A Clinical Review of Cervical Pregnancy


Abstract
Cervical pregnancy is a rare form of ectopic pregnancy in which the ovum implants within the cervix below the internal os.
During 5 year period from January 1, 1988 to December 31, 1992, 4 patients of cervical pregnancy were treated and a clinical review of these cases and a literature review of 28 cases in the Korean Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology are
presented.
@ES The results were as follows;
@EN 1) In age distribution, 75% of cervical pregnancy occurred at the age group of 30~44 years.
2) The 18.8% of cervical pregnancy occurred in primipara and there was no special relationship between para and cervical pregnancy.
3) The 15.6% of cervical pregnancy occurred in nulligravida and there was no special relationship between abortion and cervical pregnancy.
4) The 72% of clinical symptoms in cervical pregnancy noted before the 10 weeks of cervical pregnancy.
5) The 93.7% of cervical pregnancy was not treated for 4 weeks after the onset of symptoms.
6) The 93.8% of cervical pregnancy experienced vaginal bleeding.
7) The Hb level of cervical pregnancy at first examination was 93.7% over 8.0 gm%.
8) The urine-HCG test was positive in 100% of cervical pregnancy.
9) The impression at first examination was incomplete and threatened abortion(39.4%), cervical pregnancy(21.9%) and chriocarcinoma(9.45%).
10) Cervical pregnancy was treated by transabdominal total hysterectomy(81.3%), bilateral cervical canal ligation after cervical canal curettage(6.2%) and cervical canal curettage(9.4%).
11) The amounts of transfusion in cervical pregnancy was from 0 pint to 29 pints.
